This was a redesign I did for an existing project management app.
I felt like doing some iOS design and picked out an app that could do with a redesign. The app is the player for Ireland's main TV and Radio broadcaster, RTE.
Here is a link to the app that they currently use for comparison purposes.
When I read that Facebook designed Home for Android using Quartz Composer I was instantly interested in seeing if I could do the same. I built it as close as posssible to the real thing as I could. It came together quickly and garnered lots of interest from designers wanting to know how I made it. In an attempt to both answer questions and help people learn Quartz Composer I made a series of Tutorials on how to build home.

I had this idea in my head for a while where you could move photos on a touch screen device by pushing one against the other and for that to have a knock on effect to the rest in the stack that they would be in. It's nothing groundbreaking but something that I would love to use and interact with for fun.
A concept where you may dedicate the application you are using at the time to your dock for a more interactive OS X experiance.
Just Caption It began its life as a means for me to learn and practice my PHP & MySQL skills, no more no less. At the beginning it was a simple site with a login page and registration form, and no direction on where to go next. After a couple of conversations with some friends, a photo caption site where people could upload drunken and/or humorous pictures from social events was the direction I decided to go in. The site currently still in production.
Just Caption It made it to the finalist's stage of the Irish Web Awards 2011 in the Best Student Web or Social Media Project category.
This is a single page web site for a client who runs a medical centre in Cork city. She wanted something very easy to quickly scan in order to find useful information while at the same time to look profesional.
While I was studying at CIT I has a lot of free time between labs and lectures so we would often be looking for free computer rooms to do some work in to pass away the time. It was especially difficult as much of the time you couldnt tell whether there was a class going on or not. I made this site to help show which labs were free and which werent at that moment in time. Also an alert will show when a lab is going to be free or taken 15 or less minutes before the hour.
I recently switched to Sublime Text 2 for my coding work, however with that meant replacing the icon. Here's one I quickly threw together for the sake of having something more interesting to look at in the dock.
I was originally going to do my Quartz Composer tutorials on this simple iOS app however becuase Facebook home is a more interesting product this composition took a back seat. I have made out notes to explain what is happening in the composition so this composition is very friendly even to the most novice of Quartz user.
UCC International Society
I was asked to design a icon/logo for the International Student Society in University College Cork.
I wanted to play with the idea of having the planet which immediately establishes and international feel. Also by having a ribbon surround the planet it suggests a togetherness which is what the society is all about, connecting people from all over the world together.
